Buyer's guide

Best client reporting software for marketing agencies

Updated September 2026. Prices taken from each vendor's own pricing page.

There is no single best one. There are five or six good ones, and which is right depends on how many channels you report on, how many clients you have, and whether you need the client to actually respond.

Read this first. We make Clientdeck, which is one of the tools on this list. So treat this the way you would treat any comparison written by someone with a stake in it. What we have done to keep it useful: every price comes from the vendor's own pricing page, not from a blog. We say plainly where other tools beat ours, including on price and on connector count. And there is a section at the bottom telling you when not to use Clientdeck. If you only take one thing from this page, take the four questions below and go and check the vendors yourself.

The four questions that actually decide it

1. How many channels do you report on?

This is the biggest fork in the road. If you report across Google Ads, GA4, Search Console, LinkedIn, TikTok and Meta in one document, you need a broad platform and you should stop reading comparisons that pretend otherwise. If ninety percent of your reporting is one or two channels, a broad platform means paying for dozens of connectors you will never open.

2. How does the pricing scale with your success?

Some tools charge per client, some per data source, some a flat fee per tier. It sounds like an accounting detail. It is not. Per client pricing means your software bill grows every time you win a client, which is exactly when you can afford it but also exactly when it stings. Per source pricing does the same thing when you add channels. Work out what you will pay at double your current client count, not today's.

3. Does the client have to log in?

Most reporting tools give the client a dashboard behind a login. In practice a lot of clients never log in, which means you do not actually know whether your work was seen. A report that arrives as a link, and can be read on a phone without a password, gets opened far more often.

4. Do you need the client to respond, or just to receive?

If you only need to deliver numbers, almost everything on this list will do. If you want a record that the client read it and agreed with it, that narrows the field sharply. Most tools have approval features that are internal to your team, which is a different thing from the client signing anything.

The tools

Listed roughly from the cheapest and most manual to the most expensive and most automated. Not a ranking.

Free and do it yourself

Data Studio, formerly Looker Studio

Free. A paid Data Studio Pro tier exists; Google does not publish its price.

Best for agencies with the technical skill and the time to build dashboards, where budget matters more than hours. Genuinely powerful, connects to almost anything, and costs nothing. Google renamed it back to Data Studio in April 2026.

Where it falls short: you build and maintain every dashboard yourself, chart by chart. Nothing writes the narrative. It looks like Google, not like your agency. Meta data needs a paid third party connector that Google will not support if it breaks.

Broad platform

AgencyAnalytics

US$20 per client per month billed annually, or about US$25 monthly. One plan, 85+ integrations. Custom pricing above 25 clients.

Best for multi channel agencies. This is the mature incumbent and the connector library is the widest here. If you report on many channels, this is probably your answer. At a small client count it is also cheaper than we are, with far more integrations, and we would rather say that than have you find out later.

Where it falls short: the bill grows with every client you win. The "every feature included" headline sits alongside paid add ons for AI and rank tracking. Report approval exists but is internal to your team: their own documentation states client users cannot comment.

Dashboards from templates

DashThis

From about US$44 per month paid annually, or US$54 monthly, up to about US$429 annually or US$499 monthly. 34+ integrations.

Best for agencies who want a clean, white labelled dashboard running quickly. Running since 2011, with a big preset template library and unlimited users on every plan. White labelling is available on their entry plan, which is cheaper than where we gate it.

Where it falls short: since March 2026 the tiers count your data sources as well as your dashboards, so adding connections can push you up a tier. Commentary is an annotation your team adds, not a reply from the client.

Goals and targets

Swydo

€69 per month monthly, or €62 billed annually. Priced per data source: the first 10 are included, then about €4.50 each up to 100. 38+ integrations.

Best for agencies where reporting against agreed targets is the centre of the relationship. Goal tracking is genuinely well done. They shipped a client portal in July 2026 and have been moving steadily toward the client facing end of the market.

Where it falls short: per source pricing means cost climbs as you add channels. The report is still a dashboard and a summary rather than a written document in your voice.

Larger agencies

Whatagraph

Max plan from €699 per month, billed annually. A custom Prime tier sits above it. Annual commitment only. 68 integrations.

Best for larger agencies and in house teams with real budget and a lot of channels to move. Polished, with strong data transfer and visualisation.

Where it falls short: the entry price is an order of magnitude above everything else here, there is no monthly option, and the free tier that existed in 2025 is no longer offered. For an agency with a handful of clients this is not a realistic choice.

Ours

Clientdeck

NZ$49 to NZ$399 per month, flat. Not per client, not per data source. Seven day free trial, seven reports, no card.

Best for small agencies whose reporting is mostly Meta ads and Google Analytics, who want a finished written report rather than a dashboard to build, and who want the client to sign it off. The client opens a link with no login, reads it, comments on any number they want explained, and approves it. As of September 2026 we could not find another tool on this list where the client can approve the report itself. We check monthly and will change this line when it stops being true.

Where it falls short: the connector list is short next to everything above. If you report on Google Ads, LinkedIn or TikTok, we do not cover it and you should choose something else. White labelling starts at our Studio tier, which is more than DashThis charges for it.

When not to use Clientdeck

Three cases, and they are common enough to say out loud.

You report on many channels. If Google Ads, LinkedIn, TikTok or Search Console are a real part of your reporting, we do not connect to them. AgencyAnalytics or DashThis will serve you better and it is not close.

You have one or two clients. At that size per client pricing is cheaper than our flat tiers. AgencyAnalytics at two clients costs less than our Starter plan and gives you far more connectors. Come back when the per client bill starts to hurt.

You want a live dashboard rather than a report. We have a live dashboard, but the heart of Clientdeck is a written monthly report with a sign off. If your clients want to check numbers daily and never read a document, a dashboard tool fits better.

No signup. A real report, with the client sign off on the end of it.
